Michelle Scales
Experience: Michelle has been a School Psychologist for over 20 years with a focus on Dyslexia and Trauma-Informed practices. She has worked in IL, MI, OH, CO, as well as in VA, which has provided her with a broad perspective of how school systems function nationwide. She is a member of the FCPS Dyslexia Team and has also been a Trauma 101 trainer for the county.
About Mrs. Scales: Michelle and her husband have a son and a daughter, who are FCPS students. They love to hike, ski and simply enjoy the outdoors together. She also loves to bake, sew and craft when she has the time.
What she likes the most about working with our students: The students at SHES are so incredibly endearing and brave. Even in their most challenging moments, she sees that they all want to do what is right, to feel successful and be accepted. She is regularly impressed by their resilience and determination, not to mention the humor and brightness they bring to each day. It’s hard to pass a day without at least one student making her laugh.
