English Language Arts Strategies

Outcome: By June 2025, Multilingual Learners in grades K- 3 will increase their pass rate on the VALLS assessment from 42% to 47% and the iReady assessment in grades 4 and 5 will increase by 10% from 49% to 54% 
Strategy 1 Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of the language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum.
Strategy 2 Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that students demonstrating risk master foundational skills.
Strategy 3 Improve daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology by using the new core curriculum.

Mathematics Strategies

Outcome: By June 2025, the unadjusted data on the SOLs for Multilingual learnes in grades 4 and 5 who are ELP Levels 1-4 will increase from 20% to 30% as measured by the metric annual pass rate for Mathematics. 
Strategy 1 Improve teachers’ implementation of Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction.
Strategy 2Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.
Strategy 3 Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.

Chronic Absenteeism

Outcome: By June 2025, we will reduce the chronic absenteeism rate of all students from13.8% to 10%.
Strategy 1 MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams analyze attendance along with behavior and wellness data bi-monthly to identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
Strategy 2 Schools will implement practices to recognize good and improved attendance to reinforce attendance and strengthen student and family engagement.
 

Discipline

Outcome: In 2023, we had 10 OSS during the school year. Our goal n 2024-2025 school year is not to exceed 5 OSS, a 50% reduction.
Strategy 1 Implement mandatory Tier 1 SEL and PBIS practices during protected time slots in the school schedule, including Mindfulness Moments, Community Circles for Elementary, and Restorative Advisory Meeting for Middle/High schools, alongside three Signature Practices at all levels.
Strategy 2 Utilize an MTSS framework to establish and organize a schoolwide continuum of proactive behavior and wellness supports which will provide targeted interventions to students at different level of need.
Strategy 3 Utilize regional support teams to analyze discipline data and wellness data bi-monthly to identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Integrate consistent analysis of discipline data disaggregated by subgroups (race/ethnicity, SWD, EL, FRM).

Science

Outcome: By June 2025, 47% of 5th grade students will pass the Grade 5 Science SOL, this is an 10% increase from the 37% pass rate SY2023-2024. 
Strategy 1 Expand the type and frequency of formative assessments to evaluate progress throughout units and lessons, such as exit tickets, four corners, whiteboards, stoplight reflection.
Strategy 2 Increase opportunities to apply and demonstrate understanding of vocabulary through evidence-based arguments and reasoning.
Strategy 3 Use discourse strategies and thinking routines to increase students’ academic conversations.
